About the YALI Alumni Association of Ghana
The YALI Alumni Association of Ghana (YAAG) is the official national association that brings together graduates of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) from across Ghana.
Our membership includes alumni of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, the YALI Regional Leadership Centres, and other recognized YALI leadership programmes. United by a shared commitment to leadership, service, and national development, we provide a platform where alumni can connect, collaborate, and create lasting impact. As part of the broader YALI movement established by the United States Government, YAAG exists to strengthen the alumni community through continuous leadership development, professional networking, mentorship, knowledge sharing, and collaborative action. We believe that when young leaders work together across sectors, they can develop innovative solutions to Ghana's most pressing social, economic, and governance challenges.
Today, YAAG serves as a vibrant community of entrepreneurs, public servants, civil society leaders, educators, researchers, innovators, and development practitioners who are committed to creating opportunities, empowering communities, and advancing sustainable national development.
Our Story
Leadership does not end when a YALI programme concludes. It is only the beginning of a lifelong journey of service, collaboration, and impact.
The YALI Alumni Association of Ghana was established to ensure that graduates remain connected beyond their training experience. The Association provides a structured platform where alumni can exchange ideas, build partnerships, mentor emerging leaders, undertake community initiatives, and advocate for positive social change.
Through conferences, workshops, networking events, policy dialogues, community service projects, and strategic partnerships, YAAG continues to strengthen the collective influence of Ghana's YALI alumni while contributing meaningfully to the country's development agenda.
